  1. What is paintless dent removal?
Paintless Dent Removal (PDR), also known as Paintless Dent Repair, is the art of massaging metal FAQ Frequently Asked Questions
back into its original form without damaging your factory paint. It is the fastest, most efficient, cost-effective method of removing dents and creases on your vehicles. A wide range of damage can be repaired using PDR. The most common use for PDR is to repair hail damage, door dents, minor body creases and small bumper indentations. The techniques can also be applied to help prepare the damaged panel for paint. These functions are known as “push to paint,” or “push for paint.”
  2. What are the benefits of PDR?
The method of PDR gives you the best possible way to make the dents disappear almost as if it were never there in the first place. That’s quality. Moreover, it is beneficial to the environment given that we do not use fillers, primers or paint which is harmful to the ecosystem because your original factory paint is not disturbed. Cost of repair is also to your advantage when done by PDR. Normally it costs one third of traditional auto body repair. Another benefit of choosing PDR is that it saves time. A body shop will take at minimum 2-4 days or longer to repair while we can fix the same dent in less than one hour.
  3. Will my dents be 100% gone?
In most cases,YES. It depends on how deep your dent is. The deeper they are, the more difficult it is to repair. Even on large dents, people are amazed at the results. We will explain in detail how your dent will look before work is started.
  4. Will the dents come back?
Most definitely not, unless you damage that same spot again. Once a dent has been removed accurately with DENT GEEK, it never comes back. The majority of dents repaired through auto body shops may develop a ring around the dent, or sand scratch marks 3-6 months after the repair. With proper PDR work, it will not happen.
  5. Can any dent be fixed?
No. The most important factors in determining if a dent can be repaired by PDR are depth and location. Dents the size of a dinner plate or larger can be fixed successfully, as long as they are not too deep. On the other hand, some dents that are as small as a dime but very deep, cannot be fixed using PDR because the metal is too stretched. Cracked paint can also be an indication that a dent is too deep. The most common dents fixed are the size of a golf ball and under. 95% of minor dents can be repaired. About 5% of minor dents can’t be fixed due to depth or location. Areas such as some quarter panel opening lips, some forward areas of heavily braced hoods, or the very edges of some panels are examples of bad locations. PLEASE CONTACT US. WE WILL GIVE YOU A FREE ESTIMATE. WE WILL BE COMPLETELY HONEST ABOUT WHAT WE CAN AND CANNOT FIX.
  6. What does no drilling mean?
PDR technicians drill or punch holes in places such as door frames, quarter panel jambs, inner wheelhouse panels, etc. in order to gain access to a dent. Most of the time, customers are not even informed of this. A professional licensed technician will not try to drill your inner panel structure. It is your choice to decide whether you still want to go through with it. Most repairs by DENT GEEK need to remove and install trim panels to gain access and re-apply the rust protection coat.
  7. Can you help with my lease or rental?
YES! Most definitely, we can. If your lease comes up soon or you need to return your rental, give us a call and we shall repair it for a lot less than conventional auto body shops charges.
  8. Is there a discount for multiple dents?
Yes, there will be a discount offered for multiple dents. If you have more than one dent on a panel, we can generally include those dents for very little extra depending on the sizes and number of dents. If your car has a lot of minor dents, you are given a per car price that is price-efficient.
  9. Can PDR help me resell my car?
We know it’s what’s on the inside that counts. However, you need to take into account the image of the interior and exterior of your car when re-selling. Most people judge a car by its appearance. If the image of your vehicle is spotless, car buyers will assume that the car has been well taken care of. If you’re looking to sell your car, PDR is one of the best ways to get top values of your vehicle, more interested buyers and a quicker sale.
  10. Will PDR damage my vehicles paint?
No. Today’s automotive paint is highly flexible and durable. When PDR is performed by a competent technician, the paint is in no way damaged. PDR is the ONLY way to repair dents and still keep the factory paint.
